Nigerian delicacy you might get addicted to without knowing

Food! Food is common among all humans and race. It’s difficult for me to pick one favourite type of food.

I have some varieties of food that I enjoy eating, while some of these foods are classic, others are traditional and have unique recipes and preparation.

Today though I’d like to talk about a Nigerian dish ofe akwu

Ofe Akwu

“Ofe Akwu” is one of my favourite dish/soup and it’s one of the most popular food in Nigeria

It is prepared differently in all part of the country but the end result and taste is almost the same.

It has a unique taste, though some regions claims theirs taste better, but to me one can never go wrong with the right ingredients and procedures.

Which brings us to the necessary ingredients and proteins for this Nigerian delicacy

1. Palm nuts

2. Orioma/ataiko

3. Oburunbebe stick/osumada

4. Scent leaves( essential for me)

5. Bitter leaves (optional)

6.one large onion

7. Crayfish (important)

8.pepper and seasoning to taste

For the protein your can use as much as u want, Beef, catfish, stock fish, periwinkle, a lot of crayfish, snails etc.

The aroma from this pot can bring foes and friends together.

This dish is served with ;

1. Starch

2. Pounded yam

3. Fufu

4. Rice etc.

This delicacy is rich in vitamin k and also acts as antioxidant.

My weakness and persuasive touch has always been good and money. Which brings me to my mom’s popular saying “a recipe has no soul, you as the cook, must bring soul to the recipe.

And I believe that people who loves to eat are always the best people.
